This doesn't get mentioned or happens in the original RE2 game play so now its cannon from the Outbreak series. Resident Evil 2 Remake is a horror survival video game of 2019. Would love if they brought the originals over to PC and all platforms or even remake them, it's become obvious at this point that the older Resident Evil games had more survival horror and item management (Outbreak had you create new weapons from tools and new medicines), Outbreak even went a step further and had you start off as infected which came with a timer meaning you had no choice but to progress as fast as you could while trying to slow down the infection, dealing with puzzles and monsters around you made the game pretty frantic and exciting for me.
